Hey fellow flamers, I’ve been noticing recently when I duplicate my action, the priority of the media jumps. Does anyone encounter similar issues or know of any fix for this?

I’m using Flame 2025.2.1 Update currently.

Thanks in advance!

This is a longstanding bug. I have a beauty rig that has precise surface ordering. When I duplicate the Action, or just duplicate a selection of surfaces in Action, the priority is not kept.

I quickly tried to the following:

1- Add an Action node
2- Create three Media Inputs
3- Connect three clips to the Media Inputs
4- In the Priority Editor, the default priority is:

- 3
- 2
- 1

5- Change the Priority to:

- 2
- 1
- 3

6- Duplicate the Action node

The priority was still the one set at step 5. Do you have a different result doing the same test?

Maybe did you add accidentally some priority keyframe? Sometimes, with prority keyframes, things become weird.

I tried this and the priority jumps when I duplicate. It jumps back from 2,3,1 to 3,2,1

Surface priorities is such a legacy relic. It needs to just be rewritten.

Isn’t this a heck of a lot of work?

I realized this only happens in ACES colorspace.
Have been testing with Rec709 and it doesnt recreate the issue.

Interesting position. Watcha mean? How else would you like to figure out if your pimple removal goes on top of your background plate or behind it?

I frequently run into a simliar bug copy+pasting Image setups between nodes in 2023.3. land. I should probably test that in 2026…
