If you run **two or more Flames** , you can have them all read the same shared folders, Matchbox/Lightbox/Pybox bins, and config files (Batch defaults, tags, colour coding, project templates, custom resolutions and so on) from one `sysconfig.cfg` on shared storage. Flame has supported this since 2025. The catch is that you have to write the JSON by hand, and one wrong path quietly sends a workstation back to its factory defaults without telling you.

I made this app to give you a guided walk-through to do it in instead:

- **Every setting gets its own row** , with a plain-English description, a folder picker, and a “found / not found” check.
- **Set up a facility profile once** : your shared root, plus where things live inside it. After that, one click fills in every path. You can export the profile and import it on your other machines.
- **All your `.cfg` files in one folder.** It lists any that are missing and can copy them over from the workstation you’re on.
- **It checks your work before saving.** It flags paths that only exist on one machine, paths that don’t exist, and shows exactly what will change. The old file is always backed up first.
- **It installs the pointer** that tells Flame on each workstation to use the shared file.
- **It reads Flame’s startup log** to confirm Flame actually picked up your file and that every setting matches.
- **It keeps up with new Flame releases.** When Autodesk adds a new setting, the app finds it automatically, with no update needed.

**Who it’s for:** anyone with two or more Flame systems who wants them to behave the same. That could be a pair of suites sharing presets and Python hooks, or a larger facility that wants one place to manage it all. It’s also handy if you already have a shared `sysconfig.cfg` and want to check it for mistakes: load it and see what gets flagged.

**Requirements:** macOS 13 or later (Apple silicon or Intel), Flame 2025 or later, and shared storage mounted at the same path on each workstation. It’s a Mac app, so this tool doesn’t run on Rocky Linux but you can create the cfg files and then apply the pointer on any Linux system.

It’s free and open source (MIT), and part of the Logik community tools. The app isn’t notarized so the first time you open it, right-click and choose **Open** ; the README has the details.

If you try it, I’d love to hear how it goes. Reports from Intel Macs and first-time users are especially useful, and there are open issues on GitHub for both.

Just wanted to add that the `<OS>` token resolves to:
linux or macos
Not Linux or macOS.

`Oct 06 17:48:16 : [user] 62038016 program.C:1871 10/06/26:17:48:16.522 SYS CONFIG : /lg/Autodesk/cfg/linux/2025/sysconfig.cfg`

`Oct 06 21:01:55 : [user] 17106 program.C:1792 10/06/26:21:01:55.639 SYS CONFIG : /lg/Autodesk/cfg/macos/2027/sysconfig.cfg`

e.g.

`DL_SYSCONFIG_FILE=/lg/Autodesk/cfg/sysconfig.cfg`

`$ cat sysconfig.cfg`
`{`
` "configuration": {`
` "versions": {`
` "<VERSION>": "/lg/Autodesk/cfg/<OS>/<MAJOR>/sysconfig.cfg"`
` }`
` }`
`}`

Thanks @jarak08 for the tip.

The app now:

- resolves `<OS>`, `<MAJOR>`, `<MINOR>` and `<VERSION>` for each installed Flame version
- shows which versions the pointer sends to the file you’re editing
- leaves a pointer alone when it already leads to the right file
- tells you which real files a token pointer leads to when you open it with Load Existing

I also made the app signed and notarized. Download the .dmg, drag it to Applications, and it opens like any other Mac app. No more right-click → Open.
