HP Anywhere EOL. Any recommended substitutes?

Anyone tried/mentioned Reemo yet?

(Apologies if it’s already been suggested)

B

I dislike Reemo’s web workflow. They have the same issue with 444 at higher resolution as all the others (excluding Teradici). I have a nice Zoom with their CTO, and they have a plan to attempt to make 444 work properly, even if they do get it working, again, their web workflow sucks.

I also have a beta of DCV that I need to test, which might fix their 444 issue.

Has anyone tried Blitter?

Not yet as they only have macOS client, and we don’t do that.

Hi ALan, we have a windows beta if you’d like to test:

We don’t have a windows signing cert as yet so the installer will throw a run/don’t run warning.
The Windows client beta can be used with the latest Linux host:

Still polishing off a few edges on Windows beta and it doesn’t have the full feature set as the Mac (eg clipboard).

Cheers,
Dan (Blitter.app)

Hi Dan,

We need linux client, Ubuntu preferably. It is the only OS we will deploy on our endpoints.

Hi Alan,

I can post here where we have the Linux Client beta available. Or if you’d like send me an email at daniel@blitter.app, I’m keeping a few other folk up-to-date on a Linux Client via email.

Cheers, Dan

Something that popped up on SSA forums: GitHub - Aanerud/arcen_public: Arcen — a self-hosted remote desktop. A Pier streams a real desktop to a Deck over a direct QUIC/TLS 1.3 connection. No cloud, no account, no telemetry. AGPL-3.0. · GitHub

  • NVENC up to HEVC 4:4:4 10-bit full range — chroma that survives grading, not 4:2:0 mush. Software encode (OpenH264) on a box with no GPU.
  • Hardware decode on the Mac too, via VideoToolbox — an ordinary session is GPU-to-GPU end to end, so neither machine burns a core on video.
  • Wacom, properly. Pressure, tilt, rotation, eraser, proximity and barrel buttons as real pen events, not mouse clicks — on both Linux and Windows hosts. On a LAN with a Linux host you can go further and bridge the physical USB device, so the host’s own Wacom driver claims it.
  • Up to 4 monitors negotiated as one topology.
  • Opus audio, clipboard both ways, domain logon (PAM / LogonUser — Arcen stores no password).

Hi Alan,

Update on Linux Client, we have a beta available. https://early.blitter.app. Still in process of bringing it up to feature parity with the Mac Client. Access to betas is password gated. For those interested in testing, please feel free to reach out at daniel@blitter.app.

Cheers, Dan
