Went with Dropbox for a recent project. Worked out a few kinks, but overall a good experience:
- Nice integration with Synology NAS, setting only select projects to sync to Dropbox Teams
- Best to have freelancers join the Dropbox Team share with a fresh Dropbox account, otherwise it tries to merge their personal account into the team (wtf?)
- Dropbox put a hold on the sync once when I’d tried to sync selects, published EXR transcodes, published EXR plates in shot folders, and Prores media for grade all on one day. They said they have some limits in place, I’m on 8Gbit fibre so I guess I triggered it … going to keep selects seperate next time.
- Had to setup path translation for the different Dropbox locations so my Flame could read the open clips a second Flame artist was saving out with write nodes. I couldn’t easily load their setups, though that’s probably just me.
