# Python - TVC Timecode Checker

Are you a TVC finisher? Do your editors give zero f\*\*ks and have their edits start at random timecodes? Do they forget that commercials have to be an exact length?

Here is a python script that will check selected items for:

- Does the Record Time start at 1:00:00:00?
- Does the length of the timeline match to an exact commercial lengh? e.g. 15, 30, 60

If either of these answer no you will get a message that tells you who the culprit is.

Select clips in the Media Panel then TVC Checks… \>\> Check Start Timecode and Duration.

This should work for 23.976, 24, and 30 fps commercials. Sorry Euros.

Is there something to teach editors that the out point of a 30 second spot is NOT 01:00:30:01?
