I’ve had this happen a few times, but a hard reboot seems to fix it. Since I can’t restart X I’m confused how to fix this. Any help would be useful! ---

It usually means a problem of the video driver switch modes. Try to boot in text mode to debug further. You can do that by interrupting the grub screen and adding a parameter. I’ve described the process here before (don’t have the link at moment). ---

Turns out on boot, my box was selecting the wrong installer to launch
