# Subscription activation timing

Hello,

when does an Autodesk Flame subscription (30 days) become active? Does it start immediately after payment is processed by Autodesk, or only after Flame successfully establishes its first connection to the Autodesk licensing server?

The subscription begins when the transaction is completed, not when Flame is accessed for the first time.

I will use Flame 2025 as single-user/standalone on macOS.

There are many outdated infos on the web about how to activate a Flame license.. Could you point me to a working howto?

Hi Joe,

As mentioned, your Flame license will be accessible in your Autodesk account once the transaction is completed.

Please note that Flame requires your Autodesk account credentials during startup to validate the license.

If a valid license is found, Flame will launch successfully; if not, it will not start.
