Hi All,

Miserable New York weather outside can mean only one thing, getting nerdy with some coding!

Been meaning to make something like this for a while, it’s a plugin that emulates that rotation bokeh that you see in vintage lenses such as the Petzval, as seen on movies like The Batman, Dune and Poor Things.

Enjoy!!

J.

I posted and created a thread a while ago as I was trying to achieve this very similar effect. This is super handy. Looking forward to testing this out! Thanks so much for the contribution!

Shader update v1.1 now added a “cat’s eye” look to the bokeh.

some more updates. Now added lens breathing (independent X and Y) and a more pronounced catseye effect with kernal edge flattening option.

cats\_eye = 0.8
edge\_flatten = 0

cats\_eye = 0.8
edge\_flatten = 1

cats\_eye = 0
edge\_flatten = 0
