So we had a fun little vibecode session at IBC yesterday , and in the spirit of sharing i want to just throw my XML toolkit out there

i basically had a long curated list of scripts i made to fix common issues in XMLs and then let claude make a macOS swift GUI for me

the idea is that you can do batch operations on XMLs to “wash” them

→ remove pieces of media from all timelines (for example all audio stuff from all XMls, or all logos or whatever you want to get rid of)
-\>create sources sequence XML
→ change metadata, filenames, paths, add reeelnames if they are missing
→ change timeline name to the filename of the xml (lets say premiere timeline is called AAA and producer renamed the xml to “a beautiful 20s ad” the xml header still reads “AAA”…
→ it can relink to raw media super fast as its just going by filename and is then swapping to the actual file we WANT to link to right in the XML , so you can skip the “search” in flame as its so slow.
→ it can collect used media after relinking (it doesnt trimm, just full clip copies)
→ it can scale all transforms inside the xml

you can let it try to find offline references , you get a visual timeline from the xml including the option to change and see all the metadata inside the XML

its not polished, but it works it has a bunch of stuff in it that might or might not be useful.

I use it all the time to clean messy XMLs and to just batch-pre-clean them

enjoy I would love for other people to contribute 🙂
