During pitch: Client want to know how it would look like before they can award the job. Can you do it first before you get the job? (3D of 4x diff flower field)

Had a similar experience with early ADO - commercial for a local NYC restaurant, client didn’t want to rotate the image of the counter, because you’d see the mess that was behind it.

:notes:You get more meat at Roll 'n Roaster . . . . :notes:

I had a client who said the comp looked fake. The problem was that it wasn’t a comp, it was all in camera

“I can see a matte line!”

Not Flame related but… About 10 years ago we used to have a British Bulldog named Sluggo. Agency producer friend asked if Sluggo could be used for some ADR/Foley sfx for a dog food spot. Cut to the V.O. booth where ol’ Sluggo was making the best gross sounds ever when one of the creatives asked “Can you get him to stop breathing?” I was not on the finish of this spot, but I can only imagine how many great ideas they brought to the table on that one.

I hit up an ex-colleague who was a senior compositor on Lord Of The Rings 1st movie about a shot in the sequence when the “fellowship” were traveling through the mountains. Something screamed about not sitting into the sequence quite right. So here I am asking him what was wrong as I couldn’t pick what I didn’t like about it which sounds a bit foolish in retrospect. He laughed as I had picked the one shot in the sequence that had absolutely nothing done to it! It was all false perspective.
