Flame Machine Learning Timewarp, now on Linux and Mac

Thru the magic of ChatGPT, this version based off .4.4b11 works in both 2024 and 2025.

When I try this… I’m getting a message that the payload has been truncated and to please copy original file and start again. Not quite sure to what it’s referring to?

what I uploaded is only the runtime script to be replaced, only after it has already been installed from the original package.

That’s what I did… I just copied yours over the one already in /opt/Autodesk/shared/python …

be cognisant of the version number.

hmmm… yes… I was not. I’ll have another go…

where do I find this version… 4.4 from github doesn’t seem to be it?

I made interim patches for 0.4.4 (Linux) and 0.4.3 (Mac)

@talosh - regarding the recent progress you made with PyTorch 2.2 & Mac M2 Metal… is that available for us to use? I’d love to try it out. Thank you!

Every time I see this thread get bumped, I think of this comic.

Can we pass the hat for talosh or something? The community is on him like he’s Fred or Stephane, only he’s not getting paid to do this.

Thanks for making the patches!

I’m getting the following error message when flame launches. Do you know what it may be?

“flameTimewrarpML: Python exception can only concatenate str (not “NoneType”) to str in <class ‘TypeError’ >”

Hmm. It looks like something is not being set, like your username or the project name. Is this a brand new Flame 2025 install, like you haven’t even created or opened a project in it yet?

Interesting, my projects have been created outside of Flame that sets the whole job(including the project and it’s setting etc), up before I launch flame.

I’ll try now to make a Project via Flame startup, hopefully that’ll kick it in.

No love, still receiving the error message unfortunately.
To be specific, I do already have projects.

Will reinstall TimewarpML 0.4.3 and run your script again in case of any “Ghost’s in the Machine”.

I’ll send you a message.
