Hey Logik people,
I’m looking for an assistant (flame junior) for the week of August 11th in the LA area. For this project I can offer $800/10hr day. In a more general sense I’m hoping to find a semi-regular apprentice, with a mix of 8 and 10 hr days. Details below…
This job runs all week, on set at my stage in Burbank (7:30 start, 6pm wrap, all typical production trappings provided) … we’ll be shooting tabletop for a national food client that I’ve worked with for a long time. You would be on our Mac Studio, helping me prep my shot work as the DIT uploads camera rolls to the NAS. From time to time I’ll jump on my Linux box to try some things with the client, and I’ll try to spare you from this type of supervision for now.
I’ll be shooting while you work, and then the week after the shoot I’ll be working on the finish. So, you won’t be responsible for completing anything, just helping to move the ball forward while I’m on set most of the time. I’ll have a batch template framework to organize and guide your work and of course I’ll be there to answer any questions and build our to-do list.
One thing to note: I like to camera track almost all of my shots in SynthEyes, so in a perfect world you would already know the basics of it. If not, I’m happy to teach you but would hope to find some arrangement to get a head start on this before the shoot begins. I think I could show you enough of the basics in an hour via video chat or in-person visit.
In general I’d like to find an assistant that I can effectively instruct and develop- the deadline constraints on this one will prevent me from teaching as much as I’d like, but down the road that would be the idea. Hey, if you end up teaching me some things, even better- collaboration is key. Please respond or DM me if you are interested or have questions.
Thanks!
Nick
