I just jumped on a new shot and have to camera track it. In thinking about having to do this, I felt a calmness.
So mine is “Camera Tracking”, which is insane because Flame’s got mediocre tools for it and I have had many many bad days doing it, but anyway, it’s what I’m going with.

Hands down would be conforming… There is something zen/mindless but yet satisfying about matching (maybe even slightly improving) the offline.
Three responses in and I can already say that I’ve never had more clarity about the meaning of the phrase, “To each their own.”
For the record though, the obvious choice is paint.

Without a doubt, creative look dev. I would do that all day for free. (Don’t tell clients).
Camera track too. Analize, clear bad points, manual tracks, add references, basics geometries… refine… I have and strange pleasure when I see how everything is matched and I feel that I am the complete owner of the shot and I believe that I can do evereything. Of course, when the track is doable. Hard or easy. My fav days when I start a job is when I have to do camera tracks. The calm before the storm. I offer me as the tracker guy even for my 3D mates.
But none of this is in flame. 
. I use pftrack.
Conform is very streesful for me. I always feel that I’m missing something. It’s like you think that you didn´t lock the car´s door when you are 2 km / miles far from the car.
Maybe head replacements, I love it when people are oblivious to it.
