A good place to look is here New in 2027 and New in 2026

Examples for 2027:

  • The Isolate node (easier to make Automatte work)
  • Pixel Expressions for useful pixel math that is nimbler than matchbox
  • New ML tools (depth) that run faster and on smaller systems
  • Snapshot improvements and Annotations
  • Metadata if that matters to your workflow
  • ProRes RAW support

Examples for 2026:

  • Type node
  • OCIO
  • AutoMatte
  • More ML Models (upscaling)

And there are many more in the APIs, timelines, and processes.

Burn for macOS is also a big improvement !
We look forward to Flame 2028+ making breakthroughs in multi GPU parallel support,
Like Davinci and Baselight, it can also support 8GPU servers.

Running 2027.1 and all is good, apart from the GPU filling up while using isolate.

Curious - which function in Flame (outside of ML inference) would benefit from multiple GPUs? I mean in the main app.

Backburner and burn are clear use cases. Backburner doesn’t require an additional GPU, but it can help. I don’t use it often, so have limited first-hand data.

They can’t even get Flame stable with 1 GPU, they will never support multiple.

At present, it is just a beautiful expectation.
