Hello All, I just started to learn Flame, at a very beginning stage. I am excited to be a Flame artist and working on some interesting projects and solving problems visually. I am thankful for any valuable advices or experiences that you would like to share with me and help making my learning path stronger. Thank you very much.
Get out now while you still can. You are young. Don’t anchor yourself to this dying industry. We are all old and bitter.
Only pay attention to Alan when he is giving technical advice. Tonight before he goes home he’ll flip the little number from 1 back to 0 on the sign that says “Number of Days since Alan’s had a shitty day.”
And for the rest of us, we’d be happy to answer any specific questions.
Thank you very much!
There is a future with Flame, and I encourage you to pursue it. The nature of our work is changing with AI, but there won’t be high-end, well-done commercials without a Flame artist.
Welcome! Tell us more. Where are you located, what is your current experience, how can we help?
What is your background? Do you know any Photoshop, editing experience, how about animation apps?
Thank you for your encouragement!
Thank you. I am in Los Angeles and have been here for a decade now. I was trained as a traditional illustrator and mainly utilized watercolor and Photoshop, so my background in visual effects is zero and expecting to learn about this industry from the ground up. I just started my learning and I am sure I will have many questions to ask for support.
Hello! I was a traditional illustrator, mainly worked with watercolor. Then, I left the art industry for a bit to be an art teacher and decided to become an artist again, but in different route.
I only know some Photoshop for editing my illustration work and did some digital paintings with it, but I do not know any other editing softwares or animation apps. However, I did a bit of After Effects for turning my illustrations into animation, which is very basic.
I think all of this experience will help you in the learning process and the actual operation of Flame. Maybe the part that you are lacking is the “editing” part.
Don’t let Alan dissuade you! You’ve absolutely found the right place to ask questions. ![]()
@randy made some Intro to Flame videos over on our training site. Logikacademypro.com. They are up there for free, so definitely take a look when you have a chance.
As a new member of our community, you need to understand that Alan is a brilliant Flame artist and successful business owner — and he at times says things which turn people off. I do encourage you to reach out to us for any questions, we’re here.
Thank you very much for all the resources. I am inspired to be a Flame artist by my husband, as he is a Flame artist himself and he encourages me to be one. However, he is busy so I am looking for some resources that I can learn at my own pace to fill in the time when he can’t be there for me during my learning progress.
Thank you very much for your support.
