ATEM mini pro to Louper

Hi,
I’m using an ATEM mini pro to stream to Louper and for some reason the connection drops at varying times. Usually between 5mins and 30 mins. I’m sure its not cabling, switches or internet connection issues. As a test I left the atem on internal colourbars and streamed to louper overnight. It streamed for well over 8 hours. When I switched to another source after that time, within 3 minutes the connection dropped. Atem still thinks it was streaming, but Louper was saying “waiting for source”. Any ideas??

Has it worked for you before without issue? I use the UltraStudio 3G because it’s Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gbps). I believe the ATEM is USB-C (10 Gbps). More than you need for streaming probably, but seems like bandwidth is fully taken care of with thunderbolt.

Other things might be removing your streaming source from LDE and add it again. Something may be weird with the settings. Also update Desktop Video and any supporting software, assuming that is the driver for the ATEM.

Streaming wise, the only issues I have with Louper come down to VPN and firewalls.

Noticed that the Louper setup guide is showing an issue with ATEM mini pro as an encoder.

Incompatible Encoders

  • Blackmagic:
    • Atem Mini Pro - RTMP output mode. It does however work when used as a USB capture device.

The atem worked for about a year and yes I used it as a USB device until I noticed that the signal showed banding.
Louper works fine with their LDE app. I just would like the ATEM to do the broadcasting because it’s a 1 button HW press and the cool ON-AIR indicator in the multi view screen helps me monitor the bandwith and cache levels.

I’m unfamiliar with encoder boxes for Louper, maybe someone else can chime in.
