Broadcast monitor/AJA issue

Hello,

Last night I was delivering a spot and had to move a monitor, and unplugged the HDMI cable to my Eizo. Plugged it right back in, and there’s no image (but there is sound on the stereo, so the connections are good). The broadcast monitor settings are all greyed out in Flame, so I can’t find a way to turn it back on. I’m guessing it’s something with AJA. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any insight. Got a client session tomorrow so, yeah…

*Doing the final color balancing pass on the GUI monitor was fun..

Did you reboot? I find Linux doesn’t “hot-swap” very well, which is, in essence, what you are doing by unplugging it and plugging it back in. I know in my case, the graphics card won’t graphic if the monitor is off when I start the machine,so that may have something to do with it also.

Thanks Tim. I’ve done multiple reboots, looked through all prefs and Flame setup app…

What’s odd is that when launching Flame, I do get a signal, showing the Flame logo. But once in Flame, it refuses to show a clip on the broadcast…

I’m confident that it’s not an issue with the Eizo — because I have another OLED broadcast monitor that is also not getting a signal, and it is also HDMI.

Your preview settings in preferences may have gotten turned off, or it reset the video config there.

Got to preferences / user - video preview and make sure the correct items and video resolution is selected.

That would explain why you see the Flame logo, but no preview playback. And these can get reset if something gets disconnected. That is expected.

Thanks Jan. That was the first thing I tried. I’m unable to change the settings.

SOLVED. Prefs – Project (??) – Broadcast Monitor – AJA output was off.

Didn’t expect it to be in a project setting. All good now. Thanks, guys.

Just about to say that.
