Export DENOISED clip into same location as original?

Hi,

I am wondering if there is option to somehow streamline denoising process using NeatFreak and export it as Prores4444 into same folder as original clip or optionally one folder up and into PLATE_DENOISED folder for example…

When I import clip, it knows it comes from /folderA for example, but when you RENDER, it is in managed location somewhere, right? So original path is lost and cannot EXPORT to original folder if not set manually? I was thinking Create Export Menu could help somehow, but because RENDERED file is located different place than original, it cannot do anything to find out its original location?

Maybe I am the only one using this method so I have to do it manually

What I currently do is:

  1. Select original and add NeatFreak.
  2. Dive in to NeatVideo OFX and set what ever needed.
  3. Render.
  4. Select original in batch and under right click, Copy Metadata, File Location.
  5. Select DENOISED render in Media Panel and export.
  6. With Export window paste File Location I copied before and EXPORT.

NeatFreak has option to RENDER or WRITE FILE and WRITE FILE has media path in it, but it cannot save Prores.

Not too complex, but I thought there must be better way than this.

idk if that helps you but i usually just denoise in the timeline and publish that as a second version of the source plate.

streamlines the whole process a bit , and you can just pick which versikn of the plate you want in the i comming openclip

Batch can’t render QuickTime files…

This is the way.

tbf I have moved this to a massive plateprep nuke script to just run it on the farm, but i still write DN as V2 of the source openclip :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry friends, but I forgot to mention that I still rock Flare only workflow without Flame.

There is timeline tab in Flare, but haven’t used it for anything else than checking clips. Not sure if I can add Neatvideo from there.

Looks like FLARE can make BFX also, but I am not entirely sure what are its advantages in general.

EDIT: Sorry, you were talking about OpenClip, not BFX. This topic is so alien to me so I was confused.

Thanks to Andy, I was able to learn that even with FLARE TIMELINE you are able to add NeatVideo OFX to the clip and directly export denoised version without extra RENDER step and then EXPORT.

Steps:

  1. With clip selected go to timeline

  2. Press Q (flame hotkeys) to add another layer to the timeline above the clip you are going to denoise.

  3. Then select that layer and from the FX ribbon choose OFX, setup your NeatVideo settings as usual.

  4. New icon is added before the clip.

  5. Export and make sure that foreground render and render top track are enabled.

SUPER! No more render and export!
