Everything I am learning about the best ways to set up my environment i keep coming back to the fact that running mac makes things a lot easier on my end as the system administrator.

All of our machines are headless and accessed remotely 100% of the time.
Our current solution (jump desktop) is working flawlessly for us. Switching to linux presents the greater problem of setting up access for a rotating door of freelancers that need to access the systems securely, enforce 2fa etc.

The “best” way is the one that is going to work “best” for you and only you can judge that. Sounds like Mac is a good way to go for you for sure.

It’s amazing how often maximist thinking has infiltrated our lives, like you always have to strive for the optimum result, the “best way”. However, if it works it works. Maximism is just a psychological technique marketers successfully use on us to make us want to buy more stuff.
