How are people remoting into facilities?

Hi all!

I’m curious what people’s experience is with remoting into facilities - what software / hardware are you being asked to install or use? Is using a thin client common? Thanks!

We use Teradici and pre configured Thin Clients. No personal devices are allowed.

Teradici / HP Anywhere for me as well. We have Mac Mini clients that remote into Mac Studios.

Teradici hardware devices (no software on personal devices).

I do remote grading with Ultra Grid.

Am moving over to Parsec for GUI.

Also use Pixelview for client viewing.

We use teradici but no limit on using your own device to launch teradici at the moment. In the office I use Linux nuc and at home I use Mac.

interested to hear more about pre configured thin clients. This was something I did setup only to alow everyone have correct hot key experience. In the end I stopped because teradici updates continually broke hotkey functionality.

Jump Desktop, for remoting from a Mac to a Mac.

We’re still using RGS on company owned and configured Linux thin clients. works very well for us.

Fine for staffers. Impossible for freelancers / day players.

I have done jump desk on my system for a company a few years ago and that worked pretty well and I have also been given a thin client for another company using HP Anywhere software that also worked well and they had artists all over the world working with it and that works well too - we were logging into Linux machines I believe and they were able to log into our thin clients and do upgrades etc…and we never used our systems - seems like each place has their own flavor of remoting in?

We are using DCV but i am not loving it as much as Teradici.
Might be a few settings I need to mess with :person_shrugging:

Anyone know of any Flame artists using Reemo ?
The sales people claim to have lots of clients using this for Flame. None that I have heard from.

I’ve not heard of a single person using it, let alone for Flame. That seems really shady of them to say lots of people do.

What I hate about all of the non Teradici/DCV companies, is that they charge per user. I want to pay for X number of machine level floating licenses. I don’t want to have to think about user management. Teradici isn’t perfect, but for us, so far it is the best of the wretched bunch.

They’re all French clientele, and they do not have time to describe their, how do you say…
