Hi nickyl. That’s interesting - could you please share what the reason was for you dead iMac Pro?
Honestly - I would give it a trail with your new iMac but seriously please be aware of a lot of user feedbacks regarding the thermal behaviour if you have a high clocked Intel in the machine combined with high loads like MotionVectors. I would recommend to make sure by benchmarking, that the clock speed will not be reduced due to high temp development in the normal iMac instead of the Pro. If this is the case - I don’t know how the performance is comparing to a machine like this here. I’m interested also in the same topic even if I have two iMac Pro’s running the hold year (10 cores) - good luck man!
