I think in theory it is possible. I was playing about with matchbox to do this but abandoned it because I just use photoshop/ai/it wasn’t as good as Furnace plugins.

Hey Austin - I like your idea. I can’t quite figure it out just like the matchgrain node. But I made a few options for more texture scattering. Try the stamp_scatter_map option here: stmap_generators.zip (14.1 KB)

That’s the main issue… the pixel expression node can’t see what pixels are next to each other. There might be a way to blend those edges after.

Any chance Pixel Expression could Voronoi scatter a frozen selected texture, so I don’t have to do my silly little matchgrain hack?
