Looking for an “AI intern”

Hi everybody,

I’m looking to bring on someone to help me understand, use and integrate AI into my shop and workflow. I’ll gain some insight, and as they’re working with me they’ll learn how to actually make money in VFX (not just making cool TikTok videos.) If it works out I hope to bring them on in some capacity.

Existing knowledge of Flame would be very helpful, but not necessarily imperative.

Running a shop and jobs, I don’t have time to keep up on all the tools and changing tech every couple of weeks. I think this could be a win-win.

I brought in someone fresh out of college some years ago and trained her on Flame, and now she’s a working pro in LA doing cool stuff — so the system works.

If you know of someone, please reach out via email to me and my producer at gpm@sauce.studio and lily.ma@sauce.studio.

Thanks!

GP - I learned ComfyUI from a couple different YouTube channels. I know you want more personalized learning but this might be an option.

Hit me up for a quick introduction.

Edit - I am by no means a comfyui expert. I’ve just been able to hack it together for a few jobs so far.

@GPM its really not as massive an undertaking to learn as it seems and every iteration is getting more and more buttonification. The biggest barrier I had to comfyUI a year or so ago was simply getting it running. Now it’s a very simple install. Just watch a few YouTube videos where they explain the terminology and you’ll be fine. Coming from node based software this is going to be far more intuitive and understandable for you than 99% of other people. And pretty much anything you could want to do is easily found on google on the fly.

Thank you, Britt.

Yeah you’re sitting in front of a Linux box, with an Nvidia something, right?

Step 1. You ARE using ChatGPT, right? Or, Gemini? Or some kinda Large Language Model (LLM), right? You can copy and paste, right?

Step 2. Watch Pixaroma’s dope ass mega series on Comfy on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zko_s2LO9Wo&list=PL-pohOSaL8P9kLZP8tQ1K1QWdZEgwiBM0

Step 3. Check Pixaroma’s YouTube links for a Discord link. Go there. Spend 90 seconds a day just scrolling and listening. He shares all the workflows.

Step 4. Ask your LLM of choice how to install ComfyUI in a venv on your Linux box. Here is the repo. GitHub - comfyanonymous/ComfyUI: The most powerful and modular diffusion model GUI, api and backend with a graph/nodes interface.

Step 5. In an incognito browser and not in public, browse Civit AI. Set the filter to be PG-13 or less, and then watch the world open up before your very own eyes.

There. There’s your AI Intern for the next 6 months. That’ll be $5.

EDITED:

For your beauty/broadcast biz niche, I’d focus entirely on FLUX tools…look for FLUX Dev, Flux Kontext, Flux Pro, FLUX Kontext Pro. And Nano Banana, AKA Google Gemini 2.5 Pro Image or whatever the deck Google calls their dumb ass model names.

You’re going to want to learn terms like checkpoint, model, LoRA, Inpainting, Outpainting, Upscale, Enhancer.

Like, you probably have the world’s best dataset of before and after images of retouched celebs that YOU’VE made. Use those before and afters to train your own GPM LoRA. Screw Matchboxes for skin. Make GP-GPT. Boom. That’ll be another $5.

In Houdini curvy, no cap. But they work like they should…. Not like in Blender or Comfy where the point has been missed.

We’re taking this course after a few youtube Comfy tutorials. But yes, one of our junior flames has been promoted to “Head of Keeping up with all AI Developments.”
