macOS 26.1 installation issue (WAIT BEFORE UPDATING!)

If you upgrade to macOS 26.2 and then perform a clean install of Flame 2026.2.1, the service will not appear in full disk access, even if you add it manually. This is likely a bug in Flame.

In full disk access, select the “+” sign, then press Shift+Command+G, type “/opt”, and select the file, but it doesn’t work.

This problem seems to still exist, Flame 2026.2.1 on macOS 26.2 。 And IFFFS Wiretap Server and Wiretap Gateway Server cannot be manually successfully added to the Full Disk Access list, nor do they work.

You would need to add the services for every version of Flame to have the dialog to not be displayed.

If you forget the dialog, try to run Flame and see if you can see issues like accessing remote hosts or using background exports.

The main issue is that those two services cannot be manually added to the Full Disk Access list. At present, apart from the pop-up window every time Flame is launched, no obvious issues have been found in terms of functionality.

Thanks for confirming that you have not seen any issue even if the dialog is shown at startup.

From what we have seen, recent macOS updates have modified the requirement to enable Full Disk Access for the child processed of a parent process. We are working with Apple to better understand this change but for now just ignore the dialog. An upcoming service pack should solve this annoying issue.

Indeed, it seems that all individual processes that do not exist in the form of. app packages cannot be added to the Full Disc Access list. The only solution now is to remain patient and wait for improvement. Thank you also to the software engineers who silently contributed to this behind the scenes.

The joy of OS update with new capabilities and new opportunities to shine

Good news! MacOS 26.3 has fixed the issue with Full Disk Access, and now there are no more Full Disk Access pop ups when Flame starts.

Yes this is a very good news!

The requirement to get the services of Flame being part of the Full Disk Access has disappeared in recent macOS updates, including updates for macOS Sequoia (15) Sonoma (14) and we went up to Venture (13). Hard to pin point in which update this happened since the macOS documentation is quite silent about the back-end changes like this one.

We will still release a service pack for the 2025.2 and 2026.2 streams with the removal of the Full Disk Access warning very soon for the ones who are yet using the latest macOS updates.
