This just came up again in the other ML thread, but might get lost w/o separate mention.
It’s been flagged a few times that ML Timewarp is not coherent between RGB and matte channels. That was flagged during beta, but never addressed. I just checked, and there is no feature/fix it request for it.
So there is one now: FL-03670 for your upvoting pleasure.
I showed this little trick at the user group last year.
I take 2 components from RGB and Combine it with the matte as the 3rd component, run it thru Timewarp/Morph ML, and then Mono out the matte channel. This way the algorithm has 2/3s of the same data as the Front instead of being totally disconnected from it if you just gave it the Matte. Depending on the content of the Front (fill), choose the RGB component with the least amount of data to use as the Matte channel.
It is totally stupid we have to do this, and that proper RGB/A workflow was not considered during development, but here we are.
