OT: Amazon Prime started streaming Ads this week

One would think this bit of news is great for us but in reality i doubt it will slow the overall industry pivot to subscription based revenue. Or as this article points out, maybe all these studios have not shot themselves in the foot but actually blown off their entire leg in a rush to copy Netflix. Discuss.

Haha, yes this has been reported and discussed at length.

It actually caused me to cancel my Prime subscription after 19 years. It was so badly done. At least Netflix kept it the same for existing subscribers and offered a lower priced tier with ads, while Amazon makes existing subscribers pay $2.99 to remain add-free. The opposite of a customer centric approach.
