I have some 9x16 clips that the clients want to turn into 16x9. Can anyone recommend any outpainting apps?

If it’s moving image, Runway has a tool called expand video. Was doing a test with it yesterday , was pretty good. Will turn a 16x9 vid in to 9x16 or vice versa. You’ll need to soft edge comp the original back in, but it should be useable.
I’ve used Luma reframe with good results however with all these video outputs It’s going to look a bit soft but if you comp it on top of the original shot you might get away with it. Best approach would be doing it on one frame and track this in, but that’s shot dependent.

If you know ComfyUI or has someone who knows…you can use this lora to do that in just a matter of minutes. I’ve succesufully done that with moving shots.

I’ve had decent luck doing it in the Beta of Premiere, but the frames weren’t super complicated.
I’m here to second that LTX outpaint in ComfyUI is pretty useful. Depending on how far you push it it does tend to add a little block compression that you then have to Topaz or upscale out. And of course the output is 8-bit by default, but I’ve had okay results with various Bit Depth Enhancement nodes from Comfy.

LTX’s new SDR to HDR seems more robust, and actually restores missing information in highlights and shadows. But it also resamples the whole image and modifies the colorspace. I’m hoping some more knowledgable members of the chat can weigh in here, but again for stuff involving logarithmic stuff specifically I’ve been fairly impressed with this.
EDIT: I wanted to add that last time I freelanced at Instinctual, I used this node on an asset and @ALan expressed his approval of the results with a Larry David GIF. As this community knows, even a tepid endorsement from Alan is hard-won.
When using the LTX nodes, the final node has two outputs that provide different data. The hdr_linear output is the preferred one. It encodes the color in linear gamma, Rec709 primaries.
