Yikes. The only thing worse than sitting alone for 2 years at home, is sitting alone for 2 years at the office.
I’ve been hoping he was using the time to get an online degree or something, but I bet it’s just been two years of Netflix and Youtube.
Lethargy is a growth industry.
Ummmmm . . . . . No. Unless, of course, it was I paying the rent.
What you should do is call bandwidth reseller. For example, Lightyear.ai. They helped me search for dedicated business class fiber and helped me negotiate with Comcast to dig up my neighborhood and lay fiber from a half mile down the road and pay over 3 years. There’s no way in hell in your hood there isn’t a school or library or fire station or police station that has fiber, which means a new run is possible. It’s expensive though. Quotes for 1Gig up and down symmetrical with a few public IP addresses were in the $1500-$2000/month for 36 months range. But, you don’t need that. You’d be rockin 300/300 or 500/500 and that’d be enough to change your life, and, of course your mileage may vary, but quotes on my end were more like $950-1200 a month for 36 months for 500/500 which is quite doable.
I’m just gonna keep real quiet about what I pay for those speeds. And I’m gonna whisper “socialism is good”.
I actually chose my condo largely based on the Verizon Fiber Optic cable going into the utility closet.
