Don’t know of a way to expand the render list, but just recently @knhn posted a python script that is an easy workaround: “Render Selected Nodes”. Available on the portal.
I had the same struggle with long lists, now I just select whatever render/write nodes in the schematic, and hit a shortcut for this hook. Thank you Kieran!
