Short term license

As one of the people impacted by the demise of the Mill. I have an archive of historical work I’d like to open and export the clips in order to make a showreel. I would only need a license for a day at most, as at present cannot afford to pay for a month. Can anybody suggest a way forward?

Sorry to hear.

Option 1: Buy flex tokens. Half the price of a monthly license. May still be too much.

Option 2: Setup a new gmail account, sign up for a free trial, download and export. Delete everything.

Because login licenses aren’t tied to system, I don’t think there’s anything that would say your new trial isn’t valid on the existing system. But I could be wrong.

Option 3: Find a good friend that lets you borrow their license for a day.

Option 2 is not ideal, but I think most people would understand the circumstances.

New feature for ADSK: Allow you to gift someone a few tokens… as a token of good will.

I like option 2, however, as far as I know, you can’t use a trial on a system with a full install.

How big is the Archive?
Is it mostly a bunch of spots etc?
If possible for you to upload the archive I would be happy to help in opening it up and kicking out everything.

The Mill NYC was instrumental in my success when I started my Freelance career and all the Artists and Scheduling and Tech Ops people there were great awesome people.

So if I can help anyone from The Mil who was let go like a wet bag of rocks and not a human being. I’m totally down to do it.

Thanks for the offer Ben. It’s quite large, 200G, it’s stuff I did at my previous company. I’m trying the flame trial route, however I’m not getting a verification email from AD

AFAIK the trial license allows you to do commercial work so I wouldn’t worry too much

I just want to get my stuff out of my archive, but as I said, I’m not getting any email verification from AD

Isn’t there a way to view and export clips on the local framestore through a web interface? Is it Backburner? It’s been like a decade since I’ve used that but if I’m right, I think it will allow you to export clips regardless of whether Flame has a license.
I might be completely wrong, though. I just tried localhost/Backburner on the Flame I’m using and it didn’t load anything. But maybe somebody with a better memory than mine knows what I’m talking about.

Oh, never mind, I missed that you want to open an Archive.

Yeah that was the case with the transcoding export software for postings, delivery etc. I think it used Wiretap if memory serves correct.
I can’t remember the name at the moment but it was discontinued several years back.
We had used it for a while when I was at Artjail but they stopped supporting it so switched to Media Encoder.

Any luck with the email verification @paul_round ?
If you still are having no luck with getting it up and running DM me.
200G is no prob for me.

EDIT: It was Telestream Episode

No, it never came through, but someone has kindly lent me there login for 24hrs
