Turn a black car in a white car...?!

Does anyone have an idea how to turn a black car into a white one?
I’ve put my test image and a rough mask here if anyone wants to try it out.

It can get better, but my idea was to play around with blending modes and finding something that worked…

We should also blur the reflection as it makes the car look too metallic…

By sheer coincidence, I’m currently on shot where I have to turn a white car into black. I found that it was a lot easier adjusting the color levels without going too blown out or dark by doing the color work in log space. Yours looks pretty good already but maybe those highlights would look more natural if you graded and comped them in log.

The white point here is tricky and the reflections I think are too sharp, but its a place to start with and tinker. It looks very different on my two uncalibrated monitors, so hard to tell what level of garbage I’ve given you here!
