That’s awful. Don’t take jobs from them. Period, but don’t apply that to the business as a whole.
Also, there will always be cheap places.
This does not represent the majority, and won’t be as long as we don’t accept those terms.
When presented with terms I simply reply with what mine are. Take it or leave it. You would be surprised at how many accept because they actually need the help and are just trying to get a deal (remember, producers are often judged on the basis of saving money on their budget).
The others… well, weed them out as fast as possible. Simple as that. Consider it a great day of cutting the grass so you could spot all the snakes. Now that you’ve identified them put them on your red flag list and never deal with them again.
At the end of the day, everyone decides their own business practice and what it’s worth to them.
Terms can always be negotiated.
