I’ve had some artists who have had to pick up and bail. I’m curious how widespread this is.

I have no power since Friday night. Mandatory evac zone is now 1 block away.

I have a spectacular view of the Palisades Fire from Santa Monica. Watching the huge smoke cloud and the doom scroll on the internet has had me totally freaked out. But so far I have power, and the evac zone starts about 2 miles away. I think the people affected are not online now. Don’t want to speak for anybody else, but I know there are people that have evacuated.

We moved from Santa Monica to Mid-City last month otherwise we’d be just down the street from the evac zone breathing in all of that ash. The vast majority of our friends live on the west-side and many in the Palisades. As I write this we’re dropping off clothes and toiletries to friends who have lost everything—houses and all possessions burned to ash.
It’s fucking heartbreaking.
