alt+ctrl+b you can cycle through preview modes to mirror the UI monitor. I’ve done this in sessions just so people can see I’m still working on something while they write post copy or whatever they are doing.

I usually only switch into 2 up to see something in context or if I want a second view without the widgets.

In my experience it is always Candy crush

Or dating apps, seen it all.

Cant blame them too much some stuff just takes ages… and they still want to see it ā€œnowā€ … it is what it is. your computer cant be fast enough

When I supervise I never sit down because if I’m sitting down its harder to breath down people’s necks LOL!

I’ve found that a lot of clients actually like getting a little peak at the schematic now and then, makes them feel like something advanced and expensive is being done. personally I just like having the viewport big!

Plus when I stand over someone’s shoulder I make chewing and lip smacking sounds . Ya know. For motivation.

I live 100% in two-up view and always have. I don’t know why people enjoy switching back and forth and the monitor showing schematics that no one is interested in.

Usually the only time I do 2 up is to see paint strokes in context as I make them. I like as large a viewing port as possible. I used it yesterday and for the first time used the link feature. Big thumbs up e.moji for that one.

Like many other old farts here, I too learned Flame when IRIX dinosaurs roamed the Earth before 2-up existed. I’m technically 2-up a lot of the time, but the 2nd window is a small scopes window. I’ve tried working real 2-up with the schematic in one and output in another and just hate the loss of space to look at my result image.

Plus, when I’m supervised all the screen activity makes me look like I’m working super hard! Did anyone else get taught to type/pound the keys super loudly when clients are in?

I use two-up when I’m on an ultra-wide monitor.

But I also use two-up on every other monitor, too.

I also started in offline, so maybe I’m just used to seeing two windows.

I’m a 2-upper, with a 3-up Split Left in the Effects tab (mostly used for Image; left half multiple scopes on top, schematic on bottom; right half viewer.)

I’m also left handed, use BFX, and a custom amalgamation of Flame and old Avid DS hotkeys…
