I get trouble with stingray reflection camera 3D shape, it always get hissing, line… so how do i fix it? many thank
I haven’t seen that and I’m not sure if this will help, but try increasing the hardware and/or software AA in Action
I’m trying to get the Stingray Reflections to work. I found that increasing the camera’s near clipping plane will eliminate most of the “hissing lines.” But, when I have a 3D text (or surface) that’s moved away from the 0 z axis, I see an unwanted “black shadow.” I’d like to animate the camera around and have items in different z-space. I’ve tried bumping the Action bit depth to 32, adding more software AA and the link and flip the camera for the reflection in another Action but it flattened the z-depth. Any thoughts on how to remove the blackness? Attached is a setup showing the issue. Thanks!
Let me stop you right there, as that is your problem. ![]()
the stingray shaders haven’t been updated since they were introduced some 10-15 years ago. Even back then they fell in the camp of “if they work, cool, but if not don’t bother.” You’ll be better served building your own. Based on your reference clip, this technique will work.
Thanks Andy. That’s good to know. I’m bummed it doesn’t always work. I’ll give your technique a try.
