Batch - output in and out points

hey all. another dumbass question! couldnt find it in the manual. im in batch - it takes the handles markers / in and out points and translates them to the batch render out . which is great. sometimes I want to change those - anyway of adjusting those in and out points with batch.

You can change the range in the render node. Click on the blue Setup and make it Custom. Now you adjust start/end frame numbers. Not exactly what you need but a solution.

yes - sorry - not what i was after. its the handles positions.

Do you get those markers by just having an In / Out point set on the source material?

you do. but when you load mulitple clips they often arent quite right. so when you render and drag to a timeline then the handles are incorrect. so i was wondering if there was a way to adjust them in the batch render node.

@Jonhollis - from the batch schematic:

  • double click on your source clip so that the software takes you to the timeline view
  • adjust ins and outs
  • re-enter the batch schematic
  • select the render node and t-click the newly adjusted clip

yep i know that - but the problem is if you have loads of clips all different lengths. and none of them are like a master. so as i T clicked the first clip its half the duration of the whole batch. therefore the handles - out point is way too early. so what i need is to be able to adjust those in and out points on the final render node.

@Jonhollis - Sorry about that Jon.

It’s hard to know how to answer your question, since we’re all blind to what you’re doing, but if there is a clip that forms the master length and in and out point of your clip then you might use that.

In my little world I use write file nodes, openclips and connected conform - i never touch in and out points on render nodes since they’re wholly unnecessary for the way that i work.

Same here, sort of. Before I even enter batch I have a clip on my timeline that will get replaced with the batch render. With connected segments, I Shift-J to replace. In and out marks in batch are only used as a reference for how much I need to render.
