I know it’s a Mac thing. But it would be nice not to have this line around the screen.
I believe that’s a known Apple annoyance feature. No place to turn off. There may be a few hacks with mixed results.
At least they stopped rounding the corners.

Yes tried that - I think it’s the new Liquid Glass thing (which I really dont like) all windows have a highlight around them. I think it’s that. The only thing is all the other programs that can go full screen dont display this grey border. So it’s just a flame thing. Therefore must be fixable.
I hate the liquid glass in all its glory. Looks like Windows Vista with more round corners.
Fret not, the designer that conceived it has since moved to Meta and everyone at Apple cheered.

I love the liquid glass! It’s so pretty and refracty! Makes me happy every time my phone screen warps as I unlock it. I’m easily pleased.
(but can see how that would be a pain on the flame app)
It’s has a unique look to it.
But from an accessibility perspective, it dropped contrast ratio below guidelines, it adds motion blur that is difficult for some folks, but probably more broadly it makes it harder to for quick recognition of screen elements.
So prettier, also makes your brain work harder. Given that we spend so many hours on those devices, that’s a unnecessary regression.
Apparently there are settings where you can blunt it, but that’s yet another thing we have to worry about. Whatever happened to Apple’s ‘works out of the box’?
And in the same vein - why did they have to move the search box to the bottom of the screen. I constantly now have to look for it. We had the search at the top for more a decade. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
I hate the search box at the bottom. Crazy change. Ive changed the reduced transparent and that helps. Otherwise not a big fan of the liquid glass phase! But I absolutely love the new studio display XDR. Really great monitor. My second one turns up tomorrow
