I hardly use the color correct node anymore. Only for simple tasks like increase sat 0.15 or decrease gamma 0.050 or stuff like that. I migrated to mastergrade/image completely. I just miss some way to be able to copy a simple mastergrade node within a image mode. As far as I know, this is not possible, neither by copying/pasting, nor by saving/loading setup… It could be a nice request.
Oh, that’s awesome. Thanks for the tip, Fred! Using Image as a replacement for a CC or CW node in Batch is a bit of a pain because of the extra steps required to get matte input working with it, but piping a matte into Mastergrade would be a wholesale upgrade.
Same here Tim.
Hmm.. I’ve not touched ye olde cc node in a looooong time (colourwarper same..) … I think I even did a feature request to have the mastergrade node in the main bin.. .. come to think.. do people use the blend&comp node?
Mastergrade matchbox is my go to color corrector for comp. its great, its fast, it does what i want
Can you give me some advice how you match colors using Master Grade?
Is there something similar way as Nuke by picking samples or do you do it simply checking scopes?
Best
There are a few options:
The color warper matchbox has a match function some folks like. I don’t typically use it, so can’t speak much to it. There may be tutorials for it if you search.
If you want to just match white points and black points, like in Nuke comps, look for AFX_ReverseGrade in the Logik matchbox collection.
You can go old-school and just use the scopes and eyes.
If you want to spend money, there’s an older plugin from RevisionFX called re-match that is designed for this. It’s been a while since I used it. It’s on OFX plugin and works on Flame and some other hosts.
