Color correct flame 2026?

Why there’s no more color correct node in flame 2026?
I need to do a search space tab to get it.

I see it in the FX nodes and in the space+tab search. Where are you not seeing it?

I can’t imagine that the color correct node has become a legacy node. Surely not!

If you look all nodes and type C, there’s no more Color correct

Is it because you are searching for color when it should be spelt colour

sorry I couldn’t resist :raising_hands:

Flame 2026 right now for me

my 2026…

Maybe it’s hidden by accident. Try this:

oh yeah that works, it was hidden
thanks

Now you can “show” to unhide it.

wonder why this is hidden… i only use this node about 300 times a day! is this an effort to switch to master Grade? if so it won’t happen without a matte input i’m afraid…

You could try swapping to Image node

will try this now…

What’s the difference between image node and action ?

There’s a matte input in the master grade node…maybe it’s labeled as strength but same difference really.

You can add new inputs to the Image node with ctrl-n as in action. You will have to either right-click on the surface and from the contextual menu assign the media or from the control tab of the surface assign the media. You also need to activate the matte as either RGB, alpha or luminance in the control tab. A little convoluted but supports multi inputs as well.

So, no more excuses to not switch to Image.

Colour Correct is not hidden by default. It was only hidden for Nicolas.

The ability to hide a node from the Node Bins has been added in Flame 2025.1 Update and was featured in one of the first YouTube Shorts we published.

I do agree that the switch should be made to Image, but be aware that the MasterGrade node available from the Matchbox bin has a Selective input that can be used to connect a Matte.

Image and Mastergrade serve different purposes.

If you need to make a single correction in a batch, Mastergrade is a great choice.

If you do actually grade a shot, which may include multiple corrections, secondaries, etc. then Image is more appropriate as it allows for a complex set of color operations as a single node in Batch, similar to its relative, the Action node.

Note that the use of Image is not necessarily limited to color correct, but can also be useful for stringing together secondary corrections from other matchbox nodes.

On a beauty job I’m currently working on I need to apply A2Beauty to multiple regions of the face, along with tracked masks. I’m using an Image node for that, as it contains all the operations in a small place and it’s efficient to attach mattes to each, a opposed to multiple A2Beauty and gMask Tracer nodes in the main Batch node tree.

This is an example of Image being used, even though there are no color corrections in play.
