Computer monitor doesn't match video monitor

Hi.

I have a monitor problem here. Basically, my Main monitor was missing Red compared to my Video monitor.

So I had them both calibrated by specialists and they showed me the result by inputing from there computer the same image into both monitors. They looked absolutely identical to me.

But as soon as I input the Nvidia signal from flame in my computer monitor and the Blackmagic output to my Video monitor, I still have almost the same difference as before.

I can say that my video monitor still looks correct but what is the problem with the computer monitor?

I have in the prefs set my Video preview and Graphics monitor to Rec 709 display so it should be ok.

What goes wrong with my Graphics monitor???

I have noticed that in 2026 and 2025 verison of flame but I can’t remember if it was already the case with 2024…

Any clue?

I ran into something similar when I upgraded to 9.3 linux.. I believe I found some icc profile in the user settings that was messing things up, check in your settings/ display settings in linux. It’s been a while so I might not recall correctly..

Thx that was the answer!. In Settings/color, you can see the ICC profile used for your monitor and the one used was a default one. I set it to Rec 709 profile and it now matches perfectly my video monitor. Thank you!

Ran into that myself as well. It would be good if Flame assisted with that a bit more, or at least flagged if a questionable profile is selected. After all we install their ISO, so they do know what’s happening there.

Imagine you didn’t have a video monitor to compare against? You’d be delivering questionable color to clients…. (in fairness, that’s why we use reference displays), but still…

Exactly. Until yesterday even though I trusted my video monitor, I just assumed at least one of them was miscalibrated, that’s why I made the calibation guy come. He first showed my his result, sending his own source with his own generator. The result was amazingly similar. It’s only after seeing that that I understood something was going wrong with Either Flame or Linux… For sure it should be much better documented and shared…

i believe if you buy one of the supportes eizos or whatever and select that as gui dispkay yadda yadda its all nice and works as expected (turnkey style)

ICC profiles - and I agree should however be globally disabled in the OS by DKU… or something thats mad.
