Conform: Keep Shot Names

…ions of the shot name like below for example,shot name = ABC_sh001segment name = ABC_sh001_grade_v1Or something similiar, I select all the conformed segments (now lacking a shot name), then use this to copy the segment name to the shot name, then open the sequence and use the Conform tab to bulk edit the shot name column back down to to the actual root shot name. The bulk edit thing is very handy.

You can edit all the shot names for the open sequence in the Conform tab.

1. open the sequence
2. go to conform tab
3. make sure Hide Linked is turned off
4. shift + select all the rows/segments you want to edit
5. 2x tap in the Shot Name column (not the header, but in the column of entries)

It will change the names to an editable field that has sequential notation if it can detect it. So if your segs are

ABC_sh001_scanlinear_v1
ABC_sh002_scanlinear_v1
ABC_sh003_scanlinear_v1

the column will change and show
ABC_sh00*_scanlinear_v1

It collapsed the number sequence to the asterisk. Then just delete the _scenelinear_v1 and mash enter and it will change all of those shot names but keep the sequential part it detected.
