Rename Shot Using Section of Clip Name?

Is there a way to rename a shots on the timeline by isolating a part of the element name? Eg my clip is named ‘AB12_shots_ABC_0010_…’ - Is there a token to isolate ‘ABC_0010’ and use to rename the shot? Have a long timeline that I dont want to have to manually rename. I tried using the ‘split’ token but apparently that doesn’t work on the timeline.

Conform: Keep Shot Names

My understanding was that shot name metadata more or less lives at a sequence level. It refers to sequence’s shots. It doesnt live on the segment, it lives on the sequence. That helps me understand it. Conform: Keep Shot Names

You can edit all the shot names for the open sequence in the Conform tab. open the sequence go to conform tab make sure Hide Linked is turned off shift + select all the rows/segments you want to edit 2x tap in the Shot Name column (not the header, but in the column of entries) It will change the names to an editable field that has sequential notation if it can detect it. If you want to use Python, you can drop this file to your /opt/Autodesk/shared/python, you will find a Segments_renamed_tools in your contextual menu of your(s) segment(s) selection that will deduct your shot name based of your segment name.
