Difference between installing Flame as root versus a standard user with administrative privileges

Is there any difference between installing Flame as root versus a standard user with administrative privileges (entering the admin password when promted)?

Thank you!

You should install the application using a user with administrative privileges. Logging in as root is not recommenced and goes against security standards.

Thank’s Stéphane!

Does this mean the user installing Flame must belong to the “sudoers” group (if that exists on macOS), or do they simply need to enter the admin password at the start of the installation?

It is a good practice to have at least one user with administrative permissions but it does not have to be the end user since the authentication dialog allows you to select another user and enter the password.

On macOS, when you install applications, you might need to authenticate more than one time so keep this in mind before starting the installation and walk away for your coffee break
