is there a way around this? or is it a bug. if I scrub the timeline in g mask the overlay mask spline disappears. as soon as you stop it reappears. its quite annoying. im sure theres a pref ive missed somewhere.
I’m not seeing this in Gmask Tracer or the old Gmask. When I scrub the widget is visible. 2026.2.

Yes, I’ve seen it happen now and then as well. 2026.1 on Linux.
I can’t say exactly how it happens or how to reproduce it. My daily life is basically seeing this kind of stuff, swearing at it, and still working on as fast as I can.
Possible one of these settings to turn off widgets while playing or scrubbing got toggled? They’re in the “View” menu.

If you’re talking about a timeline effect and you are scrubbing the timeline, check this setting in the “Options” button on the bottom right of the viewer window

so it turns out these display settings randomly disappear - I cna set them to be on. and then ten minutes or so later they are off again!
