Mocha, powermesh, feathing alembic edges?

Mocha powermesh track, export alembic, import into action. Diffuse map locks and tracks all good. Is there a trick to “feathering” the edges? Like a blur or falloff that effects the border of a 3d object?

I’ve got a hacky workaround, but it’s hacky.

Add a material node to the geometry and activate ‘light wrap’ in that material node.
