Named User Licensing, Exceptions apply: Flame, Flame Assist, Flare, Lustre, Flame Premium, and Inventor ETO are eligible for renewal until further notice."

I got this email from ADSK recently. Does anyone have clarification on WTF is going with licensing? Are we able to keep our floating lics, or are we truly being forced to horrid Named User? The whole, “Exceptions” part is giving me hope. @YannLaforest

" We are writing to let you know your maintenance plan expires on June 29, 2022. Please note that **maintenance plans are no longer renewable after May 6, 2021.**

Hi @ALan,

Answers to your questions are in the two articles below:

https://www.autodesk.ca/en/campaigns/transition-to-named-user/terms-and-conditions

Summary:

  • Starting November 7, 2021, Maintenance plans will retire and will not be further renewed.

  • Starting November 7, 2021, Autodesk will no longer sell new multi-user subscriptions.

  • In line with all Autodesk software, multi-user subscriptions of Flame Family products will retire on February 7, 2023 and will not be further renewed.

The exceptions note refers to the Trade-In Product Exceptions (Section 5 of the first article).

You will need to transition your maintenance plan to Named User based on the articles. I recommend confirming those details with our licensing team.

  1. Go to Contact Customer Support | Autodesk Knowledge Network
  2. Select Help with buying online
  3. Select Renewal
  4. Select From Autodesk or From a seller other than Autodesk (depending on what is applicable)
  5. From there you can chat with an agent, request a call back or open a ticket

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
Yann
