I had an idea recently, some nodes prefer LINEAR, some LOG, some VIDEO , some are universal etc, I can never remember which is which but it is documented, in the midst of a job its not always easy to check, it seems to me it would be good if rather than all nodes being grey, what if say all the LINEAR nodes were tinted a slight RED all LOG a slight GREEN all VIDEO a slight BLUE and all universal nodes remained GREY , seems it would be easier when in Batch to then go off into different pipelines knowing you are using the node as intended

Interesting. I was kinda hoping for something grander…nodes that use Color Management tags to behave how they should in the first place. But maybe yours is easier than mine.

yes this is how it should be the metadata should travel and be recognized by the nodes.

I agree the meta data should follow and act accordingly, but my understanding is some nodes will only ever do exactly what they are supposed to do if they are in the right colour space , so if a node is LINEAR only then it would be best that its obvious so we can convert colour space for that part of the comp.
