Posting Output with only Stereo not Surround

Does anyone have a way to output audio tracks 7 and 8 as stereo only with no surround for posting to client? This is without deleting tracks. Muting tracks doesn’t seem to do anything on output.

Mute the tracks and also “Mixdown to Stereo” on output. Mix down will ignore any muted tracks.

Shouldn’t that be 7 and 8?
You can also open up the audio desk and set 7-8 to 1-2 and mute the other tracks. This can also be done on the timeline, but I find it fiddly . . .

You’re right. Updated. I’d like to do this with a hotkey perhaps. Not sure this is addressable using python however.

Probably not directly, but I’m almost certain that you can select a clip, have Python select the necessary tracks (all video, audio tracks x & y) and you can create a new temporary clip which will get exported and then destroyed.
Some steps like that.
Sounds long winded, but if you code it correctly it will happen faster than two shakes of a lamb’s tail.

It actually is doable/python-able to mute and unmute audio tracks.
I’ve seen it/used it while freelancing/remote’ing in to work.

Edit; Phil’s idea of having a temp clip created and exported for you would be nice.
Select all the 5.1 tvc spots and they get exported as stereo for you.
No need to go and re-enable all the tracks for each spot when delivering.
