hi fred. I would have the three options but call the third one smart keyframe.
Autokey always on for me, Tim said earlier, leave it and move on, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, plenty of other issues to sort out.
Autokey always on till then end of time and never miss a beat… seems old-school slow and unintuitive to have to confirm every adjustment one makes.
Really what I do when there’s only one keyframe is simply Alt click the fields to keep them.

Fred I see that “semi” for the Autokey off folks could be nice but for me personally I would definitely forget to hit Set Key on the initial adjustment so in this scenario I would stick with Autokey On.

Ignore everyone else and please do this Fred. They’ve clearly not used systems that have smart key framing. It’s a great way to work.
