Just having issues mounting a SMB server on Mac OS big sur, after googling it seems like a fairly common issue, just before I go down the search for solutions I figured if anyone on here has been lucky fixing the issue.
this seem to work in case anyone else has trouble, run
sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/smbfs.kext
exit
